Are random card shufflers random?

At a recent poker event, trips met trips met trips at a table.

The table used a mechanical card shuffler built into the table.

Conversely we’ve seen some crazy hands with our card shuffler.  We only shuffle once or twice but 9 times is the accepted number to make it truly random.

The so called ‘poker rigging’ that goes on at online sites may be an anomily of non-random shuffling.  Computers cannot generate truly random numbers and therefore every poker website is flawed in that respect.

As we automate more, maybe we’re losing the true ‘random’ nature of life and the universe.

Sick of the Sky chillout music channel

I do like the sounds on the Sky chillout channel, but it’s basically 20 tracks that rotate every afternoon.

Only in the evening does it change.

And it’s been like this for months - c’mon sky, do something pro-active!

A strange 24 hours…

This has all happened last 24 hours

- some idiot went round the roundabout the WRONG way and exited in the lane I was entering….could have been a big head one accident

- the painter left his van on the kerb.  The handbrake failed and it rolled down the hill, hit the neighbours garage and demolished the wall of the garage also.

- Deposited £600 online to play poker.  Checked out £2600.  2000 quid profit!

- got 20 lottery tickets for my birthday - 1 ticket matched 4 numbers, £75!!!!

Some days are just like that….

Spoilt bitch….

Well, it looks like the young 17 year old girl in our street has been bought a new car.

I mean WTF?  I didn’t get a car till I was 25 and I had to buy it with my own cash.

It’s one thing buying the car - but inevitably the running costs are far superior.  It always was the spoiled brats who got the cars at college and they always ended up making nothing of themselves….if you get given stuff for free when you’re a kid, you’ll never push that hard in life.  Too many kids these days get cars, loans and houses from their parents.  The parents threaten them with ‘it’s a loan, you need to pay it back’ or ‘you need to pay the running costs’ but what happens is they just keep bailing their kids out.

 Eventually Gordon has kicked Tony Balon-ey out of office….and crowned himself Chief Warmonger.

Hopefully, he’ll pull out Afghanistan and Iraq, make friends with the Muslims and kick out all the immigrants.

Lazy B*stard binmen

Well, yet again the binmen or recycling boys are leaving trash all over the street after doing the recycling.  Too lazy to pick up toilet rolls or nurofen cartons, they just bugger off and leave us to complain.

It happens, every week - soon I’m going to start photographing and video taping them to send to the newspapers/news channel.

Squirrels - the neds of the countryside?

Are squirrels the neds of the countryside?  Sure they look cute but they’re always bounding about the place like teenagers on buckfast.

Still they’re cute little buggers and I love em.

Uncle bob

Uncle bob and his family are coming down from Manhattan later this week.

Bob’s a kewl guy, smokes cigars and slaps you on your back and says ‘alright buddy’.

Hopefully his wife won’t moan so much like last time….

Takes me back to thinking about Bananaman in the Nutty comic.  What ever happened to banana-man anyway?

The Nutty comic was eventually bought by the Dandy. I remember Nutty, it was printed on better quality paper than the Beano or Dandy for sure.
